Datamars Livestock launches world-leading Fence Monitoring

Electric Fence

Continuous performance, exceptional distance, real time vigilance

A new era of animal containment and crop protection is here! Datamars Livestock is launching its world-leading Tru-Test Farm Network Fence Monitoring Solution.

Created by a global team and tested by farmers around the world, this new smart fence monitoring solution brings peace of mind that animals and crops are secure, and wildlife is adequately deterred. Meanwhile farmers and staff can focus on more pressing tasks and farm management activities away from the fence line.

Ideal for remote areas, run offs, waterways, intensive and mixed farming operations and for the management of high-value assets, the Tru-Test Farm Network Fence Monitoring Solution delivers continuous remote voltage monitoring on multiple parts of a fence system — and across an unsurpassed distance of line.

A smart mesh network of Fence Nodes gives undivided attention to every stretch of line, measuring up to 12,000V across electrified wires 24 hours a day, all year round. Furthermore, as the system communicates via radio frequency, farmers receive real time and accurate information even when the fence condition is poor.

Datamars Livestock Global Product Manager, Fadi Allos says extensive reach and reliable performance are hallmarks of this time-saving solution.

A total of 50 Fence Nodes may be employed across a Farm Network. With the maximum node placement of 500 metres apart within line of sight, the multi-hop wireless network relays voltage data over long stretches. For additional vigilance on temporary break fencing, the fixed infrastructure may be supplemented with single nodes which are easily moved from one point to another.

Farmers no longer need to walk the fence line to check the voltage. Data is relayed to the Cloud every two minutes, making the Tru-Test Farm Network Monitoring System a highly responsive fence monitoring system. If voltage dips or drops away, notifications will alert farmers and staff via the Datamars Livestock App. All real time and historical data can be accessed from anywhere through the web and mobile devices.

Fadi says another significant advantage of the Tru-Test solution is its functionality in areas without cell phone coverage. “This monitoring solution does not require cellular connection at the fence. Where a farmhouse has internet, the central Network Gateway can be located within its Wi-Fi range or connected with an ethernet cable.”

On the fence line, each Fence Node is supported by a battery and solar power panel to ensure long life and uninterrupted performance in all seasons including low sun conditions. Robust weatherproof hardware is easily mounted to wooden or steel posts and LEDs on each device along with directions via the Datamars Livestock App support a smooth install process.

Finally, a real coup is its brand agnostic pairing. The Tru-Test Fence Farm Network Fence Monitoring solution will work alongside any energizer.

The Tru-Test Farm Network Fence Monitoring Solution is the third smart farming product release from Datamars Livestock following its Tru-Test Autonomous Weighing WOW and Automated Heat and Health Monitoring with Active Tag.
